Returns & Refunds Policy — Danube Choice

At Danube Choice, we want you to love what you buy. If you're not completely satisfied, this policy explains your rights and how to return a product.

1. Right of Withdrawal (14 Days)

Under Directive (EU) 2011/83 and Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 calendar days from the day you (or a third party you designate) receive the product.

You do not need to give any reason for withdrawing. The cost of return shipping is borne by you, unless we did not inform you of this obligation in advance, or the product was delivered incorrectly / defective.

1.1 How to withdraw

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us by a clear statement. You can:

Fill in and submit the Standard Withdrawal Form below; or
Email us at returns@danubechoice.eu with your order number and statement; or
Call us at +36 1 234 5678.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your communication before the 14-day period expires.

1.2 Effects of withdrawal

We will refund all payments received from you, including the original delivery charge (excluding supplementary costs arising from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard one).
We will process the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we receive the returned product, using the same payment method you used.
You must return the product without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you inform us of withdrawal.

1.3 Product condition

You are only liable for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning. The product should be returned:

In its original packaging, where possible.
With all accessories, manuals, and free gifts included.
Unused or with only minimal handling for inspection.

2. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

Under Article 16 of Directive (EU) 2011/83, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

Sealed audio or video recordings or sealed software unsealed after delivery.
Products that are made to order or clearly personalized.
Products that may deteriorate or expire rapidly (e.g., perishable food).
Hygiene products unsealed after delivery (e.g., earbuds, in-ear headphones).
Newspapers, periodicals, or magazines.

3. Return Procedure

Request a return: Contact us at returns@danubechoice.eu or use the form below. We will send you a return confirmation and instructions.
Pack the product: Use the original packaging where possible. Include a printed copy of your return confirmation.
Ship the product: Send it to our warehouse: Danube Choice Kft., Váci út 45., 1134 Budapest, Hungary. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping the proof of postage.
Inspection: We inspect the returned product within 3 business days of receipt.
Refund: Refund is processed to your original payment method within 14 days of receipt of the returned product.

4. Defective or Incorrect Products

If you receive a product that is defective, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your order number. We will:

Arrange a free replacement, or
Issue a full refund (including return shipping costs), or
Repair the product where feasible.

For defective products, return shipping costs are borne by us.

5. Statutory Warranty (2 Years)

Under the Hungarian Civil Code and Directive (EU) 2019/771, all our products are covered by a 2-year statutory warranty against defects that existed at the time of delivery.

First 12 months: a defect is presumed to have existed at delivery; we bear the burden of proof.
Months 13–24: you must prove the defect existed at delivery.
You may request repair, replacement, price reduction, or withdrawal from the contract.

6. Commercial (Manufacturer) Warranty

Some products come with an extended manufacturer warranty (e.g., 3 years for Apple, 5 years for Arc'teryx). This is in addition to your statutory rights. Manufacturer warranty claims can be made directly with the manufacturer or through us.

8. Order Cancellation

You can cancel an order before it is dispatched by emailing orders@danubechoice.eu. If the order has already been dispatched, please follow the standard return procedure once you receive it.
