Un desastre,te dicen que el autobús tarda hora y media,y tardó casi tres, con lo que perdimos nuestro avión......no se lo rexomiendo a nadie ,a no ser que tu vuelo salga a las 6 de la mañana y no haya tráfico !!!

Nada recomendable. Retrasos en el horario y falta de información. Personal y conductor irrespetuosos, que no controlan los billetes y permiten que pasajeros con horarios posteriores viajen antes que otros que deben esperar el siguiente autobús.

Having read some negative reviews I felt compelled to write. I have been using National Express from the day that they first existed and before that Royal Blue. In over 500 trips they have never had a breakdown and have rarely been late to arrive.

On 6:15 A8 to stanstead airport, bus departed 15 min late. Apparently no 5:40 service and not enough seats for all passengers with prebooked tickets. In the end ppl just boarded the bus without ticket inspection. Many left stranded!

Not impressed atm. Travelling from Bridgwater to Romford,having to change at Victoria. Coach was actually an hour late upon arrival & after speaking to cs, advised i may miss my conection! From VIctoria!!which is the last in my direction. So worried!

The bus didn't arrive on time and they postponed my trip! they denied me the entrance 3 times since I had an "Open" ticket, they give priority to the others and they almost made me lose my flight! I had to buy another ticket with another company!

i asked one of the national express staff (not a driver) at Gatwick airport for help. I just wanted to double check if I'm in a good bus stop or no or they have a stop at the other terminal or not. I do travel a lot but I never had worst experience.

had one transfer booked for today at 17. On the the station there were lots of people cause buses didn't came. I contacted costumer service and they said that the bus woundtstop on that station that day. Just sad. Had a cab and almost miss the flight

Absolutely appauling service, coach to London was due at Colchester af 4:40, it had been and left by 4:20, when asked what had I was told to wait for the 6 I clock London coach, even when I had a cardiff coach waiting in London, joke!

ALL ABOUT NATIONAL EXPRESS BUS LINES 

National Express was founded in 1972 and over the years it has acquired other companies in the industry and becoming one of the largest and best-known bus companies in Europe and the United States.

Nowadays National Express operates bus, coach, train and tram services in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Morocco and long distance coach services across Europe.

NATIONAL EXPRESS FLEET SERVICES

The majority of National Express buses are fitted with toilets, air conditioning, seat belts, children’s booster seats and reclining leather seats. In a limited number of vehicles, passengers can find power sockets on board and WiFi, but National Express is looking into the possibility of providing this facility for all buses.

BUYING TICKETS 

Online Purchase

You can book or buy your bus ticket at National Express website and pay with credit cards. National Express will e-mail you and send the link to download and print you e-ticket by yourself. You must print your ticket before arriving at your departure point.

Over Phone

Another option to buy your bus ticket is over phone, by calling 08717 81 81 81 the payment is by credit card.

At Terminal

The purchase of bus ticket is also possible by bus terminals, there you can pay with cash, credit card and debit card.

DEALS & DISCOUNTS

National Express has several discount programs for passengers.

Family & Friends Discounts

Groups of four or more can save 25% on standard fares and travel to anywhere in the UK. For this, passengers must book a travel for four or more travelers at least three days in advance.

National Express has a Family Coachcard which allows one or two children travel anywhere for free all year, depending on family size. For that you need to buy the family coachcard that’s best for you and your family, complete your details and you’ll receive the coachcard the way you choose.

Children Free Tickets and Discounts

One child aged 0-2 can travel for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid bus ticket; additional children aged 0-2 must pay for the bus ticket.

Young Travelers and Student Discounts

Passengers aged 16 to 26 years or full time students can buy the Young Persons Coachcard and get a ⅓ discount on standard bus fares and 10% off travel to events and festivals.

Young travelers can purchase their coachcards, complete their details and receive it at their home address.

Senior Discounts

For travelers aged 60 or more, National Express has a Senior Coachcard which gives ⅓ discount on standard bus fares to many destinations across the UK; these discounts include public holidays, weekends and bank holidays. 

Senior travelers will receive their coachcards at home after 7 days after the purchase.

Discounts for Disabled

The disabled discount rules vary according to the country, so it’s important verify the available discount when you are planning your trip.

Disabled passengers who has the Disabeld Coachcard can save ⅓ on standard fares to various locations in the UK such as cities and airports.

Buying the Disabled Coachcard, passengers can travel on holidays and weekends because there are no restrictions to travel at peak times and peak season.

If the passenger use a wheelchair or have reduced mobility, you need to contact the National Express at least 36 hours before travel by calling 0871 781 81 81 so the bus company can suit your travel needs.

TICKET REFUND AND EXCHANGES

Not all bus tickets types are refundable, so you need check the terms and conditions on your ticket.

If your bus ticket is refundable, you can cancel it no later than 72 hours before your departure time, doing this, you’ll be able to get a refund. National Express charges £5 to cancel each bus fare. If you are entitled to get a refund, you should call to customer contact centre 0871 781 81 81 or 0371 781 8181.

If you bought a flexible fare you can receive a full refund of your bus ticket up to 24 hours before your bus departure time. If you will travel for the same route, the flexible fare allows you to get any coach available 12 hours before or 12 hours after your original departure time.

To postpone your bus ticket you have to verify if the type of your bus ticket allow this amendment. 

The amendment can be done by phone, it’s just call to customer contact centre 0871 781 81 81 or 0371 781 8181.

Other way to make an amendment to you bus ticket is online using the “manage my booking” tool on National Express website, to do this you’ll need your ticket number, the last four digits of the payment card you used to book your bus ticket and your e-mail adress.

The third option to amend your bus ticket is speak with any National Express high street agents. 

It is important to bear in mind that these agents are in stores and terminals that have different opening hours.

National Express charges a £5 per ticket, but the bus company can also apply an excess fare. This excess fare can be charged if your bus ticket was booked at least 1 day in advance of travel, so, if your bus ticket cost more than the reserved ticket, you will have to pay the difference between them plus £5.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Boarding on Bus

Passengers must be at the boarding location at least 10 minutes prior to the bus departure time.

Baggage Size and Weight Limits

Passengers can take 2 medium sized suitcases; a medium sized suitcase must not exceed 70cm height x 30 cm Width x 45cm Depth; each luggage can’t weigh more than 20Kg.

National Express allows the transport of a small handbag at their buses.

Pets on Bus
The transport of pets aren't allowed on National Express buses; except trained assistance dogs.
